Acting in Physical Theatre
Join us for a transformative 5-day international workshop focusing on Meyerhold Biomechanics, Chekhov Psychological Gesture, and Stanislavski Physical Action!
Led by the esteemed Sergei and Gennadiy Ostrenko, this program integrates three significant psychophysical traditions into a cohesive training framework. Over 28 hours of hands-on practical work allows participants to:
- Engage with Biomechanical etudes
- Utilize Psychological Gesture as a tool for character and scene work
- Explore Physical Action as a foundational method for creating authentic, embodied performances.
The training journey encompasses:
- Improvisation exercises that evolve from simple to complex
- Exploration of space and partner interactions
- Ensemble-building activities
- Text integration and scene composition
Participants will apply these methods across various dimensions, including floor-work, acting and directing techniques, and movement dramaturgy, preparing them for rehearsal and performance settings. This workshop is tailored for actors, directors, choreographers, dancers, and movement-based performers with professional experience.
Admission is competitive, based on your CV and artistic background. You'll be part of an international cohort, enriching the training experience through collaborative learning.
