Anna Fleming - The Cordillera Real and Las Cholitas Escaladoras

Join us for an inspiring talk by Anna Fleming, who was part of the 2024 AC Greater Ranges Meet to Bolivia, where they successfully ascended iconic peaks such as Pequeño Alpamayo (5370m) and Huayna Potosí (6088m).

🌍 Anna's journey includes meeting and interviewing the Cholita Climbers, a remarkable group of Aymara Indigenous women climbers who ascend and guide at high altitudes while wearing traditional dress, the pollera—beautifully layered skirts adorned with vibrant styles and complemented by agoyus (knotted blankets used as backpacks).

✨ In this engaging session, Anna will share both the exhilarating climbs and the extraordinary accomplishments of the Cholita Climbers.
