Inštitút Blaha Uhlára: Hneď na druhý deň
Organizer's text:
Premiere of the second production from the Blaha Uhlár Institute, June 16 at the Stoka Theater.
People wake up in the morning and carry on. With their stories, their arguments, their loves, their fears, and their little catastrophes. Some are afraid to reach out a hand, some long for a miracle, some for a Mercedes. Some can’t cope with their own bodies, and some with their own minds.
Meanwhile, the world doesn’t stop. It just tilts a little.
Grotesque images, absurd situations, laughter that comes at the wrong moment, and tenderness that appears where no one expected it. The production was created through a collective creative process as a mosaic of stories, reflections, mistakes, phobias, desires, and misunderstandings.
Maybe it’s a comedy. Maybe a report on the state of the world. Maybe just another day.
What do phobias, relationships, sex, a Mercedes, loneliness, and the desire to be someone else have in common? The Very Next Day is a ride between laughter and despair, in which everything is absurd and yet suspiciously true.

The creators of the legendary Divadlo Stoka continue on the path that Blaho Uhlár helped shape with them. Following his passing, the troupe decided to honor his memory by no longer presenting productions created after his death under the Divadlo Stoka banner. Instead, a new name for the troupe has been established—the Blaho Uhlár Institute (IBU).
