Created by Sue Mingus, this 14-piece band breathes new life into Mingus' compositions, presenting innovative arrangements in a larger ensemble format that Mingus long envisioned but couldn't always realize during his lifetime.

Expect a dynamic mix that fosters deep exploration of Mingus’ music, allowing for individual artistic expression reminiscent of Mingus' own Jazz Workshop endeavors. With a roster featuring some of NYC's finest established and emerging talents, the Mingus Big Band stands as one of the most spontaneous and creative ensembles on the scene.

Having received seven GRAMMY nominations and winning once for Live at Jazz Standard in 2011, the band continues to uphold its legacy with the celebrated Mingus Mondays residency at The Pocket.
