Project a Black Planet: Creating Pan-African Cinema (Workshop)

O události

Join us for an immersive workshop with Jennifer Lauren Martin as we delve into the world of Pan-African filmmaking! 🎬

Explore the essence and techniques of filmmaking through Pan-Africanist frameworks. What does it mean to create an archive through film? How can cinema encapsulate moments in time? We'll draw inspiration from Stuart Hall’s Constituting an Archive and materials from The June Givanni PanAfrican Cinema Archive to inspire your next project.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Engage with the concept of a ‘living archive’ - a dynamic and evolving process of archiving.
  • Learn how to activate your personal materials into meaningful film projects.
  • Discover techniques from across Pan-African cinema that can be adapted to narrative, documentary, and artistic moving image.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a collaborative framework and the foundational idea for your new film project, ready to embark on your creative journey! 🚀
