About the Film:
This documentary encapsulates the journey of the We Be The Blues project, which began as a visual art series reflecting the rich lives, struggles, and resilience of Black families in Albany and Southwest Georgia. Accompanied by the soundtrack album We Be The Blues: Songs from the Soil, the film explores the creation of stunning paintings, the inspiration behind them, and captures the essence of our shared stories.
Post-Screening Activities:
After the film, engage in a community discussion and an open mic experience, where local voices can share poetry and music, fostering connection and reflection. Light refreshments and beverages will be provided to enhance the experience.
