This year, we aim to celebrate the ‘Celebration of Gympie’ for everyone in our community and all visitors to our rich and amazing region.

The Gympie Gold Rush Festival acknowledges and celebrates the discovery of gold in the Gympie region by James Nash in October 1867, which prevented Queensland from facing bankruptcy. Since then, Gympie has proudly been dubbed the ‘town that saved Queensland’. Between 1867 and 1927, Gympie was recognized as one of the richest goldfields in the world.

Join us for the FREE community parade showcasing the gem of Gympie: our schools, bands, clubs, community groups, and businesses, along with the pride we cherish in our town and region.
