2026 Rustic Canyon Weekly Thursday Evening Loop

Join us for a delightful and engaging under-2-hour 4.7-mile urban hike through scenic neighborhoods at sunset! 🌇 Experience a plethora of hidden stairways and elevation gains that promise both challenge and beauty, paired with intriguing historical insights.

Important Reminder:

• Bring a flashlight (or your cellphone light) as it will get dark by the end! 🕯️
• Arrive Early! Finding parking can take time.
• We usually kick off at 5:30 PM. Just show up; no RSVP needed!

About the Walk:

Prepare for a refreshing break and a fantastic evening in Santa Monica and Rustic Canyons. This loop features:

• 13 stairways and several bridges
• Approximately 706 up-steps and 330 down-steps
• Elevation gain/loss: 801 feet
• A mix of history and fabulous architecture along the way, including landmarks like the Marquez Family Cemetery, La Señora Research Institute, and the Secret Bridge.

Whether you're a seasoned stair climber or new to the scene, this 2-hour workout is sure to challenge you! 🏃‍♂️💨

Meeting Point:

Meet us at the foot of West Channel at PCH (Santa Monica), near the pedestrian underpass entrance by Shore Bar and Restaurant Giorgio Baldi.

Parking Tips:

• Free street parking available on West Channel, Entrada, Sycamore, or Mesa.
• Beach parking fees apply until sundown.
• Check the meter times on Entrada; most have a 2-hour limit until 8 PM.

Facilities:

• Public restrooms are located across PCH at the beach parking lot.
• Don’t forget to stock up on snacks/drinks at the nearby gas station!

After the Walk:

Feeling hungry? 🍽️ Join fellow walkers for dinner at local favorites such as Giorgio Baldi, Cafe Delfin, or Patrick's Roadhouse!
