About the event

Join us for a captivating celebration of 400 Years of the House of Nobility! This event features a stunning concert showcasing the musical journey from the grand duchy with works by Sibelius and his contemporaries, including Romberg and Crusell.

🎶 Concert Highlights:

  • Performed by the talented FiBO Players:
    • Antti Tikkanen - Violin
    • Irma Niskanen - Violin
    • Hanna Pakkala - Viola
    • Jussi Seppänen - Cello
    • Petri Ainali - Double Bass
  • Special appearance by Pauliina Fred on flute and Lorenzo Coppola on clarinet.

The House of Nobility was founded in 1626, marking 400 years of history! Following our jubilee concert in May, we delve into the 19th century—an era of elegance and architectural brilliance that saw the completion of the neo-Gothic House of Nobility in 1862.

Experience rare performances including a reconstruction of Sibelius’s En saga in its early septet version, showcasing the profound Finnish essence Sibelius captured in his work. Join music journalist Risto Nordell as he introduces the concert from 6 PM to 6:30 PM.

🚶‍♂️ Walking Tour:

As a special addition, those interested can embark on What the Walls Can Tell Us—a walking tour through the picturesque Kruununhaka district led by the city guide Juhani Styrman.

  • Tour Details:
    • Starts at 5 PM in front of the House of Nobility
    • Duration: approximately 50 minutes
    • Free for concert attendees and €15 for those without a ticket
    • Limited spots available, so ensure to register!

📝 Note: The walking tour will be conducted in Finnish. A fee of €15 will be charged for no-shows without prior notice. The House of Nobility venue has limited accessibility; however, an accessible entrance is available at Hallituskatu 2 B. Please contact the doorman at +358 50 395 2349 for assistance. An accessible restroom is situated next to the concert café area on the second floor.

Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate history through music and architecture! 🎵
