4th Sunday Blues Dance Practice Sessions

Join us for a fun and inclusive dance practice tailored for everyone, whether you’re Blues-Curious or a seasoned All-Star! This is a fully masked event, so please read below for details.

Format

We will have two areas running simultaneously:

1. Topic Clusters / Small Group Sessions
   Got a specific topic you want to dive into? Great! Write your ideas on post-it notes during the first 10 minutes. At 2:10 PM, we’ll group the ideas and let an experienced dancer lead the exploration. Everyone is welcome to join any group, regardless of your skill level. Feel free to come and go as you please, but remember to be considerate of others’ thoughts!

2. Open Floor / Social Dance Area
   If you’d rather dance with just one person, or simply want to socialize, join us on the couches or on the dance floor! Latecomers are absolutely welcome to join the fun. For those looking for a quiet moment, we’ll have books on Blues music and dancing available to browse.

Cost

💵 $0-20 sliding scale for 2 hours of guided practices. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Support is appreciated to help cover costs, especially from those who can’t make it!

Venue Info

🏠 Sprung wood floor, entrance on 37th Street. Water fountain available; no food sold on-site. Feel free to bring your own food, but please eat it outside. We recommend grabbing brunch before arriving!

Getting There

🚉 Just 2 blocks from MacArthur BART, where you can also find free parking on Sundays. Please avoid parking on 37th and 38th out of respect for local residents.

COVID Precautions

😷 KN95, KF94, N95 or higher rated masks required indoors during the event. Exceptions for building’s shared hallways and a designated room for kids who can’t mask. If feeling unwell or having had recent COVID, please refrain from attending until cleared.
