🌟 A Machine as Complex as the World Itself

Join us for the first gathering leading up to Bergen Assembly 2028!

📅 Date: 11-12 September 2026
🏛️ Place: Korskirken, Bergen
🎟️ Tickets: Free of charge! Keep an eye out for the sign-up link coming soon.

In September 2026, we will embark on a journey convened by Filipa Ramos and Lucia Pietroiusti. Over two days, we'll gather artists, musicians, scientists, storytellers, and other thinkers to explore overarching questions that will shape the upcoming Bergen Assembly.

At the core of this event is a desire to rethink technology beyond computation. We aim to redefine technology not just as a digital tool, but as a broader concept encompassing techniques and transformative capacities.

Explore how humans, animals, plants, spirits, and machines create and adapt our worlds, share emotions, transmit knowledge, and foresee changes.

The gathering will feature:

  • An exhibition
  • A symposium
  • Performances & rituals
  • Mapping & assemblies

Located in Bergen, a city rich in navigation and meteorological history, we will delve into how societies navigate uncertainty through various means including forecasting, divination, and storytelling. One inquiry will focus on Bergen’s ties to oral memory and Northern cosmologies, showcasing memory as a stored, performed, and reactivated technique.

A transversal force of ecstasy will unite these diverse exchanges, breaking through everyday routines and allowing feelings and intelligence to connect in unexpected ways.

Accessibility: This gathering will be held in English. Korskirken is universally accessible from street level and features wheelchair-accessible restrooms.

Stay tuned for more information on the full program and how to reserve your spot!
