Join us for the vernissage of Bella Rune’s captivating third solo exhibition, "Planet," featuring an array of new works that navigate the space between two and three dimensions through sculptures, objects, and works on paper.

✨ The title alone suggests an intriguing ambiguity that reflects Bella's artistic essence. Utilizing the everyday and the fundamental, she seeks to transform them into something vast and magnificent. Her recent focus has been on simple machines—those basic mechanical devices that shift the direction or magnitude of a force, making tasks easier.

🌀 Featured Works:

• Planet: A suite of paper works that engage in a playful dialogue with geometric, non-figurative art.
• The Simple Machines: A mesmerizing wall-mounted sculpture balancing images with weights and ropes, creating a dynamic motif.
• Thick at One End and Tapering at the Other: A unique structure crafted from a wind-felled spruce, transforming timber into art.
• The Net: A wall piece that harmonizes material realism with a simulated mirror image, blurring the lines between textile surfaces and digital forms.

🌟 Additionally, the exhibition showcases the series Trajectory, created from coloured felted wool, adding depth and poetry to simple lines. Bella invites us to explore the transformation from line to surface and ponder the traces left behind by transient materials.

🔍 Bella Rune (1971) resides and creates in Stockholm. With a background from Chelsea College of Art and Beckman’s School of Design, she previously served as a professor of Fine Art, Textiles at Konstfack. Her innovative work often intertwines performative elements and experiments with various materials and techniques. Explore her fascinating journey through various exhibitions worldwide!
