Join us for a special evening dedicated to recovering, preserving, and honouring the stories of Black educational leadership in Montreal! 🌟
What we have planned:
- Archival Exhibit: Explore a physical exhibit showcasing historical findings and archival pieces recovered by the project team. 🖼️
- Community Memory Circle: Engage in a facilitated intergenerational conversation featuring retired Black teachers, community leaders, former students, and audience members. 🗣️
- Panel Discussion: Participate in a dialogue about what current generations can learn from past educators, how Black educators have shaped educational opportunities in Montreal, and the responsibilities institutions hold in preserving these stories. 📚
- Digital Archive Launch: Witness a demonstration of our online archive and community educational resources. 💻
- Looking Forward: Discover the next steps for this project, including expanding our archival collections, building school-based programming, and how you can get involved. 🚀
- Networking Reception: Stay after the formal program for conversations with fellow attendees, partners, and researchers. 🤝
