Hosted by Alex Putra, a talented Sydney-based composer and multi-instrumentalist, this event features a rotating lineup of emerging jazz musicians every Friday night.
Alex performs on euphonium, trombone, and cornet, showcasing his versatile talents which have earned him accolades in competitions across various levels. As the current musical director of the FUNKD Big Band at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, he collaborates with a dynamic cast of musicians, including Conservatorium students and award-winning performers.
Each session presents a unique experience with modern arrangements, jazz standards, and spontaneous performances that create a vibrant atmosphere. Think of it as a casual night out with fellow jazz enthusiasts, enjoying the raw energy of live music in a setting that feels like a hidden jazz club in the heart of the city.
