About the event

Prerequisites: At least one year of improv experience.

Join us for an enlightening workshop that delves into the subtle art of desire within improv! What if desire did not shout, but whispered? In this session, we will explore the world of Chekhov through the lens of Eros—not just as sexual desire, but as a vital force that draws us toward others, creating tension and deep connection.

What to Expect:

  • Dive into scenes where longing, desire, and frustration unfold in nuanced and powerful ways.
  • Learn to embrace silence and inhabit subtext, improvising from what is felt rather than what is explicitly said.
  • Discuss the concept of erotic capital, exploring how physical, emotional, and social qualities can influence interactions both on stage and in life.

This workshop focuses on recognizing our own energy, respecting boundaries, and utilizing embodied awareness to enrich our performances with truth and tension. All exercises will be conducted with participant boundaries in mind, ensuring everyone has control over their engagement.
