The New York State Board of Regents has officially approved a groundbreaking K-12 instructional requirement for climate education, effective in the 2027-2028 school year! 🌱 This initiative aims to equip students with knowledge on the causes, impacts, and solutions to the climate crisis.
Join us for the Interdisciplinary Climate & Environmental Science Bootcamp, organized by STEMteachersNYC, designed specifically for educators. This immersive 5-day workshop will dive into active learning strategies that enhance understanding of vital climate concepts, empowering students across all grade levels and subject areas.
Throughout the workshop:
- Engage in thought-provoking, hands-on activities and discussions that are classroom-tested.
- Experience instruction from the perspective of a student in “student-mode” and reflect on these experiences in “teacher-mode.”
- Access cutting-edge, standards-aligned content that spans both science and humanities, helping you answer the key questions: ‘What should we teach students?’ and ‘How should we teach students?’
By the end of the week, you’ll be equipped to support your students and colleagues as we advance into a future focused on climate education. Join a growing community of dedicated educators committed to truth, action, and resilience!
