Exponential Roadmap Initiative would like to invite you to a roundtable during London Climate Action Week focused on the role of commodity certificates and market infrastructure in accelerating the scale-up of climate solutions.
Scaling emerging climate solutions remains one of the central challenges in the transition to a net-zero economy. Many critical low-emission solutions remain early-stage, capital-intensive, and geographically constrained. Low-carbon materials, fuels, and industrial products may be produced in one region, while demand and purchasing power sit elsewhere.
Environmental Attribute Certificates (EACs), book-and-claim systems, and related commodity certificates are increasingly being explored as mechanisms to help bridge this gap. They are already emerging across sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable aviation fuel, low-carbon concrete, steel, and other industrial commodities.
At the same time, important questions remain around integrity, claims, additionality, double counting, and the role these mechanisms should play relative to direct procurement.
This session will bring together a small group of large buyers, solution providers, standards organisations, researchers, and market actors to explore where commodity certificates may support solutions scaling credibly and where guardrails are needed.
Space is limited, sign up today. Venue to be announced shortly.
