Most of what gets called community is, at its core, an audience. People gathered around someone selling something. It isn't reciprocal. It doesn't grow in both directions. It doesn't change you.
Real community does something harder: it makes you feel like you belong without asking you to disappear. That tension, between the we and the I, between belonging and dissolving, between culture and conformity.
For this edition of COM-EX CONVERSATIONS we bring together four voices who have built, designed, or studied this tension from different angles. Each brings their own unique perspective.

Hay una palabra que todo el mundo usa y muy poca gente construye de verdad: comunidad.
La mayoría de lo que se llama comunidad es, en el fondo, una audiencia. Gente reunida alrededor de alguien que vende algo. No es recíproco. No crece en las dos direcciones. No te cambia.
La comunidad real hace algo más difícil: te hace sentir que perteneces sin pedirte que te borres. Esa tensión entre el nosotros y el yo, entre pertenecer y disolverse, entre cultura y uniformidad.
En esta edición de COM-EX CONVERSATIONS reunimos cuatro voces que han construido, diseñado o estudiado esta tensión desde ángulos distintos. Cada una trae su perspectiva única.
Cinco años preguntándonos qué hace que un espacio valga la pena. Qué hace que la gente se quede. Qué hace que algo deje de ser un grupo de personas y se convierta en comunidad de verdad. Este evento es nuestra forma de celebrar el inicio de todo esto ya que cumplimos 5 años en Grounded Innovation 🎂
