In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll explore one of the oldest photographic techniques through playful composition, natural materials, and the magic of light.
Who It’s For:
Perfect for beginners, creatives, nature-lovers, and anyone curious about exploring this historic photographic technique through hands-on experimentation. No experience needed—just bring your ideas and curiosity; everything else is provided! (Ages 18+)
What to Expect:
During this relaxed and exploratory session, you will:
– Learn the fundamentals of cyanotype, from coating paper to exposing prints
– Experiment with natural materials, objects, and textures
– Create multiple compositions, from botanical pieces to abstract explorations
– Play with household substances (vinegar, salt, turmeric, paprika) to alter and enhance the chemistry
– Produce a small series of finished cyanotype artworks to take home
By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with your own collection of beautifully sun-printed pieces. Transform sunlight into art!
Facilitator:
✨ Beth Munro, a printmaker and illustrator from SE Cornwall, will guide you through this creative journey, using a diverse range of printing processes that reflect her love for the sea.
