CYR's Dance4Change

Have you ever wondered if there are ways to center love and joy in our movements for change? What would it look like, if young people were setting the stage for the worlds they are building?
Climate Youth Resilience is launching their Dance 4 Change project, in collaboration with Just Us and The Advocacy Academy, where they co-create pathways of joy in policymaking with young people at the center.
In this session, we will facilitate discussions on the issues at the center of young people's movements, their hopes and dreams, and how we practically embed joy and belonging in our processes. Did we mention there will be dancing? 💃🕺No dance background is needed to join!

Part of Climate Youth Resilience’s Joyful Pathways to Policymaking stream, Dance4Change is a project where we center liberatory practices in the mission to amplify our movements for change. This project aims to build bridges of liberation that youth from all around the world can access, while advocating for themselves.
In a world where young people are trying to survive, the ways we build movements become central to our mission and the worlds we’re seeking to build together. Dance allows for an accessible way to join into community and belonging, while collectively co-regulating nervous systems and immersing people in somatic experiences that de-centre purely cognitive approaches to policymaking.
This disposition of expansiveness, interconnectedness, joy, and love, is exactly what we want to tap into when we are imagining worlds together.
How are we doing this?
At Dance4Change, we are partnering with Elders (organisations with deep roots in policy advocacy, research, and evaluation) and Leaders (youth-led organisations who are creatively charting our paths toward policy actors and spaces). Guided by the vision of our Young People’s Youth Charter, we conduct workshops to determine policy pathways with partners, co-create emergent possibilities towards our dream, and support them in integrating these joyful pathways into their existing organisational goals.
