Dakota Plant Walk with Tanáǧidaŋ Tó Wíŋ

About the event

Join us for an immersive experience as we delve into the rich history of the Twin Cities through its lands and waters. Guided by Tanáǧidaŋ Tó Wíŋ (Blue Hummingbird Woman), you'll learn about her family's deep connection to Dakota plant medicines. Discover how to identify and nurture native plants, including those that enhance water quality.

🌸 About Tanáǧidaŋ Tó Wíŋ: A Dakota and Ojibwe mother, author, and passionate advocate for plant medicine, she follows the traditions of her ancestor, Háza Íŋyaŋke Wiŋ (Woman Who Runs for Huckleberries). In the mid-1800s, Háza Íŋyaŋke Wiŋ tended to plant medicines along Hahá Wakpá (the Mississippi River) and operated a canoe service across the river.

During this enlightening walk, Tanáǧidaŋ Tó Wíŋ will explore her family's history, native plants, and connections to local waterways.
