About the event

Join us for a delightful walk through South Ealing and uncover the charm of the area! 🏙️✨

Kick off your journey at the entrance to South Ealing Cemetery at 11:00 AM, where we’ll gather for a brief introduction before embarking on a gentle two-hour exploration. 🕊️

What to Expect:

  • Cemetery Exploration: Stroll through the serene South Ealing Cemetery, making stops at notable graves. 🪦
  • Historical Insights: Travel through key locations, such as the crossroads of Popes Lane and Little Ealing Lane, while reflecting on the neighborhood's evolution.
  • Cultural Significance: Discover local shops, cafés, and community hubs including the Assyrian Society Centre and Acton Recycling Community shop. ☕️🏞️
  • Natural Beauty: Visit green spaces like Maytrees Rest Garden and Church Gardens, leading you to the original Ealing village featuring St Mary's Church — the oldest in Ealing! ⛪️
  • Optional Relaxation: If time allows, we'll explore some of the area's oldest buildings before enjoying a casual gathering at a former coaching inn. 🍻

Purpose-Driven Walk:

This walk is part of Ealing’s initiative to promote safety and connectivity within the community. As we stroll, we'll engage in reflective discussions about:

  • What makes a space feel safe? 🤔
  • Are there areas less welcoming? 🤷‍♂️
  • How different people perceive the same space? 👥
No pressure to contribute; feel free to listen and enjoy!

Unique Features:

Since 2016, we have hosted walks that emphasize community and connection. We invite everyone — locals, newcomers, and visitors — to come together, fostering inclusivity and conversation. 🌍❤️

After the Walk:

Finish the day with an optional stop at a café or pub, and enjoy some relaxed chatter. We also appreciate your feedback as it helps us understand community experiences better. 📝

Tickets:

🎟️ Free Community Walk: Booking is required. Secure your spot in advance as places are limited. If you’re unable to join, please cancel your booking to allow others to participate.

Important Details:
