Escape from Turkey Mountain

Escape from Turkey Mountain

About the event

Celebrate Labor Day on the trails at Escape from Turkey Mountain, one of Tulsa’s longest-running trail races and a local tradition dating back to 2004. Held at Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness, this race gives runners the chance to take part in a trail race in Tulsa.Participants can choose between two race distances: a challenging 5-mile course for runners ready to take on Turkey Mountain’s tougher trails, or a shorter, less technical 2-mile course that still delivers the fun and character of trail running. Both races start and finish at the lower parking lot at Turkey Mountain, creating an energetic race-day atmosphere for runners, spectators, and families.Every entrant receives a race shirt and finisher medal. Escape from Turkey Mountain also serves as the third and final event in the annual Turkey Triple trail race series, following Trail Madness in March and the Trail Nut races in June.Set within more than 300 acres of rugged urban wilderness, the course winds through a canopy of native Oklahoma trees including Post Oak, Blackjack Oak, Hickory, and Redbud. Whether you are racing for a personal best, closing out the Turkey Triple, or simply enjoying a morning on the trails, Escape from Turkey Mountain offers a memorable way to kick off Labor Day.Race Details• Date: Monday, September 7, 2026• Start Time: 7:30 a.m.• Location: Lower Parking Lot at Turkey Mountain, 6851 S.
