FF (AVA KOOHBOR + SHARKIFACE) / KIMIA KOOCHAKZADEH-YAZDI / CHRIS EVERINGHAM
Join us for a gripping evening of experimental sound at the West Oakland Sound Series! 🎤✨
Featuring:
FF (F--- Fascists): This powerful collaboration between Sharkiface and Ava Koohbor challenges fascism and patriarchy through a blend of electronics, noise, and spoken word. With a focus on protest and collective action, they redefine performance art in a stunning display of resistance.
SHARKIFACE (Angela Edwards): Hailing from Oakland, Sharkiface melds synthesizers, custom instruments, and voice into visceral, noise-influenced electronic compositions.
AVA KOOHBOR: A San Francisco poet and visual artist, Ava crafts performances that transform sound into tangible sensory experiences, turning vibration into texture, risk, and presence in space.
KIMIA KOOCHAKZADEH-YAZDI: This Iranian composer brings us In Between Spaces, a live electronic set that navigates through memories and emotions. It intertwines synthesized Iranian instruments, field recordings, and vocal transformations—a poignant exploration of sorrow, resilience, and more.
CHRIS EVERINGHAM: Presenting Searching, a composition utilizing just intonation in a MAX/MSP sound space. In this evolving piece, the harmonic foundations descend slowly, creating resonances that transform with each performance, influenced by the likes of Morton Feldman and Sunn O))).
