🎤 Title: «Sound of a Phase Transition: Echoes of the early Universe»

Abstract: 🌌
The exciting detection of gravitational waves in 2015 by the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaboration has paved the way for gravitational wave astronomy, providing a fascinating glimpse into the early Universe. 🌀 Various extensions of the Standard Model of particle physics suggest the presence of phase transitions in the early Universe, resulting in imprints detectable in the stochastic background of gravitational waves. Depending on the timing of these transitions, the signals could lie within the observational range of the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA).

In this talk, I will delve into the gravitational wave production stemming from strong first-order phase transitions, analyzing how the properties of Standard Model fluids influence the expected signals. 🔍 Utilizing large-scale simulations of two transition scenarios: one initiated by detonation and another by deflagration, I will conclude with an exploration of the evolution of vortical and compressional modes, examining their intrinsic relationship and impact on the expected gravitational wave background signal.
