How Does Media Shape Our Perception?

Every day we are surrounded by media: news, social media, movies, advertisements, and online content. These sources help us understand what is happening in the world. But they may also influence the way we see reality.

Does media simply report information, or does it shape how we think about events, people, and ideas? How do headlines, images, and algorithms influence what we notice, what we believe, and what we care about?

Some people argue that media plays a powerful role in shaping public opinion and social values. Others believe individuals still have the freedom to think critically and form their own views.

So how much does media really shape our perception of the world?

This week at IQ Cafe, our speaker will introduce several different perspectives on this topic and share their own reflections. After a short introduction, we’ll break into small discussion groups where you’re invited to share your ideas and experiences in an open and respectful space.

🕒 Schedule:
8:00-8:20 - Listen to a bilingual lecture on the night's topic while enjoying snacks and coffee
8:20-9:00 - Discussion in small groups
Afterwards - Stick around and hang out with new friends!

If you have trouble, please call 080-3350-9413.
