Introduction to Spinning and Weaving

Join us for a lovely and relaxing experience where you'll dive into the world of textile arts! 🎨 In this course, you'll:

• Explore a selection of native breed wools under the guidance of textile artist Penny Dixon, who has over 18 years of experience in felting and workshop teaching. 🌾
• Learn to create your own skein of wool using a traditional drop spindle. 🪡
• Use a charming vintage wooden weaving loom to craft your very own mat, coaster, or wall hanging! 🧵
• Choose from your freshly spun 'art yarn' or beautiful commercial wools as you weave your masterpiece. 🌈

☕ Hot drinks and cake are included to keep you energized! 🍰 All necessary equipment will be provided.

Note: Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Penny is a proud member of the International Feltmakers Association and the Heritage Crafts Association, and her work is inspired by nature during her long, muddy dog walks. 🐾
