The Qabila Project is excited to present the Los Angeles Iraqi Dance Intensive 2026 featuring the incredible Mohanned Hawaz! 🎉 Join us for a memorable weekend filled with dance, culture, and community on July 25-26, 2026 in the heart of Los Angeles.

Event Highlights:

• 🪔 Workshops:
  • Saturday, July 25:
    • 10am-12pm: Basrawi (Southern Iraqi Khaliji style) - Bring thobes
    • 12:30-2:30pm: Khashaba (Urban Street dance exclusive to El Basra)
    • 7:30-10pm: Evening of Performances & Special Screening of the Iraqi Dance Documentary (The Cat's Crawl)
  • Sunday, July 26:
    • 10am-12pm: Hecha with daggers (Folkloric foundational dance)
    • 12:30-2:30pm: Kawilya (Popular Iraqi Dance of the Domari)
    • 2:30-4:00pm: Social - snacks, tea, music, and hang

About Mohanned Hawaz:

An Iraqi–Swedish dance artist and choreographer, Mohanned bridges contemporary movement with traditional Iraqi forms. 🌍 He has performed in over 30 countries and is a key cultural ambassador safeguarding Iraq's dance heritage.

Pricing:

• ✨ Early Bird Special: $335 (ends March 31, 2026) for the entire weekend including all workshops, the documentary screening, performances, and social. Payment plans are available!
• Full Weekend Ticket: $400 (after March 31st)
• A La Carte Options: Will be available after March 31st, space permitting.
