🌟 "Macau at 100cm!" - Child-Friendly Community Exploration Exhibition 兒童友好社區探索展
Cities are often designed from an adult perspective. But have you ever considered what our public spaces and streets look like through the eyes of a child who is only 100 centimeters tall? 🧒✨
The National 15th Five-Year Plan emphasizes the development of child-friendly cities and improved spatial standards, while UNICEF's "Child Friendly Cities" initiative aims to help children grow up safely, healthily, and happily, aligning with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In response, the Against Child Abuse (Macau) Association's Child Protection Centre has launched the 9th "Wonder Kids" Scheme, leading "Community Scouts" aged 8 to 11 on an urban exploration journey. These children transformed into community planners, investigating streets, public facilities, and the safety of pedestrian routes. They even conducted interviews with citizens to gather insights about a "child-friendly community". 📋
The displayed works reflect the children's creativity and hard work, embodying their genuine "Child's Voice and Child's Vision". This exhibition is more than just showcasing project outcomes; it’s a tangible platform for children to exercise their rights to participation and development.
We invite you to pause, lean down, and perceive our city through the eyes of these children. 🌈 Only when we listen, respect, and embrace their voices can our community truly become more welcoming.
When we start to listen, children's voices gain significance, and the heights of our city will begin to recognize that 100-centimeter perspective. 🏙️
