Join us for an unforgettable night as the Mingus Big Band brings the music of the legendary American composer, bassist, and activist Charles Mingus, to life!

Founded by Sue Mingus, this incredible 14-piece band showcases new arrangements of Mingus' intricate compositions, delivering a thrilling blend of artistic expression and spontaneity. Their performances encourage deep explorations into Mingus' music, reminiscent of his own innovative Jazz Workshop projects.

Featuring an impressive lineup of NYC's top musicians, the Mingus Big Band has been nominated for seven GRAMMY Awards, winning one for Live at Jazz Standard in 2011. They continue to uphold the legacy of Mingus Mondays in their residence at The Pocket.
