Model Railway Weekend

Join us for our annual Model Railway Weekend in 2026! Get ready for an exciting showcase featuring a variety of layouts, traders, and miniature live steam! This year, the museum will be brimming with O, OO, and N gauge setups alongside dedicated traders.

🌟 Outdoor Activities:
Enjoy miniature steam train rides on the 7 ¼” railway and catch plenty of action on the 'big' railway! Don't miss out on a unique opportunity to ride on a special 'train set'-style consist, featuring a mix of carriages and freight wagons on Saturday.

🤝 This year's exhibition is in partnership with the Blyth & Tyne Model Railway Club, hosting their exhibition, ‘RailEx NE’, simultaneously on the same weekend!

🎟️ Joint Ticketing Options Available:
You can enjoy entry to both exhibitions, with a free shuttle bus service running between the museum and RailEx NE at The Parks Sports Centre.

🕙 Exhibition Hours:
Runs from 10am – 4pm on both days. There is an entry charge for the exhibition.
