OKC Town Hall September Speaker - Sherri Coale

Join us for the inaugural event of the OKC Town Hall 2026-27 slate featuring the legendary Sherri Coale, a Hall of Fame Basketball Coach! 🌟

Growing up in a small town in southern Oklahoma, Sherri fell in love with basketball at the age of 5. Her journey in the sport began at Healdton High School, where she became the first female basketball All-Stater. Sherri attended Oklahoma Christian College on a full scholarship, earning a degree in education.

Starting her career at Edmond Memorial High School as an assistant coach and senior English teacher, she made her mark as the head girls’ basketball coach at Norman High School. After seven successful years, including multiple state championships, she took on the role of head coach for the OU Women’s Basketball team. Under her leadership, the team achieved:

• 🥇 6 Big 12 Championships
• 🎓 19 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances
• 🌍 3 Final Fours

Sherri also made her mark on the international stage as an assistant coach for USA Basketball in 2001 and served as head coach during the 2013 World University Games, where her team triumphed over Russia for the gold medal. 🎉
