Cellist Zlatomir Fung makes his debut, collaborating with the orchestra to present Tchaikovsky’s lovely Variations on a Rococo Theme, which he previously showcased in his first-place performance at the International Tchaikovsky Competition.

Under the baton of Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, also making his Bowl debut, the program opens with Khachaturian’s vibrant Gayane suite, telling the poignant tale of a young woman’s quest for love amidst hardship in the Armenian landscape.
