About the event

The Cattle Market, the Horse Market – this is how today's Masaryková tří, or street, if you will, was also referred to in the past. The word of the lecturer + addition of rich visual material, which we will lend you in the form of a brochure. Our tour will focus on one of the first trade arteries of medieval Opava, connecting Hradecká and Ratibořská gates. Livestock markets were held here until the time of the Opava Congress (1820). In the middle of the 18th century, however, another name appeared – Panská (Herrengasse). After the creation of Czechoslovakia, it received the name of the first president. However, many will still remember its name - the Class of Victorious February.

Start in front of the Municipal House. Estimated tour duration: 90 minutes
Reservation required: +420 734 518 907 (Municipal House reception).
In case of very bad weather, the tour is cancelled.

Lecturer: Pavel Solnický (Land Archives in Opava)
