6月のテーマは「金・銀など実物資産はオンチェーンでどう変わる？ - 三井物産デジタルコモディティーズと考える日本のRWAビジネスの可能性」です。

金・銀・プラチナといった現物資産は、これまで主にコモディティ市場、ETF、現物保有などを通じて取引されてきました。一方で、近年はRWA、Real World Assets、の文脈で、現実世界の資産をブロックチェーン上で表現し、より小口で、より柔軟に、よりデジタルネイティブに流通させる取り組みが注目されています。
今回のWeb3 Business Hubでは、三井物産デジタルコモディティーズの方をお招きし、ジパングコインの基本設計から、金価格連動型暗号資産の特徴、既存の金投資やETFとの違い、RWAとしての可能性、そして今回の重要なアップデートである パブリックチェーン展開がもたらす意味 までを整理します。
コモディティがオンチェーン化されることで、金融機関、商社、Web3事業者、ウォレット事業者、取引所、そして事業会社にはどのような機会が生まれるのか。
また、暗号資産として扱ううえで、価格変動リスク、流動性、投資家保護、法規制、カストディ、会計・税務といった実務上の論点にどう向き合うべきなのか。
金が“保有する資産”から、“プログラマブルに扱えるデジタルコモディティ”へと変化していく時代に、Web3ビジネスはどのような役割を担うのか。

The theme for June is:
How Will Gold and Silver Change On-Chain? Exploring the Potential of Japan’s RWA Business with Mitsui & Co. Digital Commodities
Physical assets such as gold, silver, and platinum have traditionally been traded mainly through commodity markets, ETFs, and physical ownership. In recent years, however, initiatives to represent real-world assets, or RWAs, on blockchain have been gaining attention. These efforts aim to make real-world assets more fractionalized, flexible, and digitally native.
For this edition of Web3 Business Hub, we will welcome a speaker from Mitsui & Co. Digital Commodities to explore the current state of digital commodities through Zipangcoin. The session will cover Zipangcoin’s basic design, the characteristics of gold price-linked crypto assets, how they differ from traditional gold investments and ETFs, their potential as RWAs, and the significance of Zipangcoin’s recent expansion to public blockchains.
As commodities move on-chain, what new opportunities will emerge for financial institutions, trading companies, Web3 businesses, wallet providers, exchanges, and enterprises? At the same time, how should businesses approach practical considerations such as price volatility, liquidity, investor protection, regulation, custody, accounting, and taxation when dealing with crypto assets?
As gold evolves from an asset to be merely held into a programmable digital commodity, what role can Web3 businesses play? Starting with Zipangcoin, a Japan-born RWA implementation, we will explore the future possibilities of the next digital asset market together with our participants.
