SALO / LATIN CORE THURSDAYS: Jaijiu ☆ VLZQUES

The last Latin Core Thursday ahead of the summer will take place at F2 on Thursday, May 28, presenting Jaijiu & the series currator, Vlzques.

Elias Musiak aka Jaijiu is an audiovisual artist hailing from the depths of Soundcloud and Argentina. Influenced by the Argentine club sound, JAIJIU reimagines what carnaval could sound like if you hit it with a hammer and recorded it. He has worked alongside colleagues in Buenos Aires to find a new sound that is rapidly spreading to other hemispheres. In 2019, along with these peers, they started a record label called “Rebote Discoteca”, which encompasses music productions representing these sounds that have been brewing all across Latin America. With a shared agenda to showcase and connect this particular sound to Canada, Elias and Max Ammo (AKA El Ángel Exterminador) joined forces at the beginning of 2024 to create Cadena.

Vlzques [Velázquez] is the stage name of DJ, music journalist, curator, and artist manager Krištof Budke, founder of the Swine Daily web-magazine. From working as a rap A&R manager at Universal Music Slovakia to his dedication to underground artists from all across the globe, he is known for his wide musical scope. His music selection is typically full of experimental avant-garde club music from Latin America, alternative reggaeton, dembow, RKT, and distorted baile funk subgenres. As a journalist, VLZQUES is also continuously looking for new music trends and talented artists. From his recent stay in Argentina and Brazil, he comes with fresh musical gems.VLZQUES has shared a stage with globally renowned artists such as Safety Trance, Slikback, DJ K, João Lágrima de Ouro, Brodinski, CRRDR, DJ Lycox, King Kami, Linapary, Mia Flaw and many more.
