SAMODIVA: GATES OF SUMMER

SAMODIVA invites you to their sixth chapter: GATES OF SUMMER presenting a fiery revival for the Rotterdam collective. Celebrating the height of the heat with a stacked, high energy mix of live acts and DJ sets!

Each artist on the bill pulls from an eclectic sonic library, placing genre-defiance and non-conformity at the forefront of their practice. SAMODIVA will transform Time with projected visuals and sculptural additions to the space.

This edition is curated exclusively by Lui Surreal.

RADVLAD - RADVLAD is the musical project of North Macedonian, Netherlands-based artist Vladimir Vidanovski. After more than a decade of working as a visual artist, Vidanovski explores sonic expression, using crunchy pop tunes, deep raver beats and cinematic soundscapes in his musical language. In his performances he shows videos with the different personas of RADVLAD.

Veles the Menace - London based Veles the Menace is the audio equivalent of a mad scientist, splicing sounds from skramz, punk, jungle, digital hardcore and more into addictive concoctions.

Lui Surreal - Lui Surreal is a Scottish-born, multi-media artist carving an anomalous lane in the global underground. A rebel, lover and a trickster, they have built a body of work grounded in love, melancholy and addiction - with catharsis as the primary intent. Sampling from a wide array of Alternative styles the music itself is genre-defiant with elements of Alt-Rap, Post-Punk and Witch House clashing to form a sound they describe as Neuro Punk. Lui’s catalogue is enhanced by an evolving, cinematic world that breathes light into the intense imagery found in the lyrics.

PL3TH0RA - PL3TH0RA is a Rotterdam-based DJ and Producer. Music collecting has been a big part of her life and she has broadened her horizon into a plethora of genres. Breaks, kicks and bass are usually the base of her sets but many genres can be expected.

Parrish Smith - no elitism, no prejudices, no 4/4, no genre, hypnotic, tense, compre​hensib​le, a state of mind Whilst cap­ti­vat­ing audi­ences with music that is both intense and hyp­not­ic, Par­rish Smith embarks on a rather suc­cess­ful jour­ney of cre­at­ing spaces where walls are torn down and prej­u­dices are non-existent. Dur­ing this unique ven­ture into the broad spec­trum of elec­tron­i­ca, Smith is able to dis­play his take on var­i­ous lay­ers of elec­tron­ic music with extreme per­cep­tive subtlety.
