About the event

Overview

Join us for a guided sea turtle walk hosted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service! ๐ŸŒŒ Experience the wonder of watching a loggerhead turtle lay her eggs while learning about nesting habitats and sea turtle conservation.

Step into the night as you embark on an unforgettable journey through one of Floridaโ€™s most remarkable natural events. Guests will not only observe the majestic turtles, but also gain insights into their nesting habits, habitats, and conservation efforts that play a crucial role in protecting these majestic creatures.

The evening begins with an educational session covering vital information about sea turtle conservation, nesting behavior, and coastal ecosystems. After this enlightening introduction, participants will caravan to Playalinda Beach in their own vehicles, where dedicated scouts will search for nesting sea turtles. If conditions are right and a nesting turtle is spotted, the group will respectfully observe the beautiful act of laying eggs ๐Ÿฅš.

๐Ÿ“… Sea turtle walks are offered Wednesday and Thursday evenings throughout June and July, beginning at 8:00 PM.
