About the event

Holden has more than 25 years of experience teaching about the human aura and has conducted hundreds of presentations on the subject. For more than 10 years, he has also been leading independent aura-focused visits through the Royal Ontario Museum.

Across cultures and throughout history, artists have depicted human beings surrounded by halos, rays of light, colored fields and other forms of luminous energy. Were these images purely symbolic, or did they represent something that people once understood about the human aura?

During this special guided visit to the Royal Ontario Museum, we will examine more than 15 examples of aura-like imagery found in objects and artwork from different civilizations and historical periods.

You will learn about:

The different parts traditionally associated with the human aura What a halo may represent and why only certain figures were shown with one
The possible significance of different colours Why some figures are depicted with larger or more complex energy fields

  • How similar imagery has appeared across different cultures and historical periods

The tour will combine historical observation, discussion and practical instruction. Participants will also take part in a guided, hands-on exercise designed to introduce the experience of sensing the human aura for themselves.

Holden will explain simple practices intended to increase awareness of personal energy, presence and the subtle impressions that may arise when observing another person.

No previous knowledge or experience is required. Participants are encouraged to observe carefully, ask questions and form their own conclusions.

This is an intimate event that may offer participants profound personal insights. Attendance will be limited to a small group so that everyone has an opportunity to participate, ask questions and engage in the practical exercises.

This is an independently organized Meetup event and is not an official ROM tour or a ROM-endorsed program.
