Join us for an immersive Weekend Intensive Course on the fascinating Japanese art of Kinbaku (Shibari), where you will progress from a beginner to understanding the foundational elements of this intricate practice. Prepare to embark on a journey of discovery and connection!

Tiger Nawa - The founder of Rope Jam Studio, brings over 20 years of Shibari experience and a lifetime of rope handling from sailing. His unique approach combines traditional Kinbaku with his extensive background in yoga and teaching, creating a poetic and intuitive learning environment.

What You Will Learn:

Day 1

• Introduction to Kinbaku: History and Types of Ropes
• Consent essentials in Western and Japanese contexts
• Understanding the nerve map and body types
• Techniques for connecting with your partner through touch
• Rope handling techniques: joining ropes, single-column ties, double-column ties, and more!

Day 2

• Hands-on practice and friction lab
• Learning specific ties and suspension techniques
• Sneak peek at Level 2 and Level 3 courses ahead

Course Capacity:

We welcome 12 couples (24 participants) for personalized attention during the workshop.

Bring Your Own Ropes:

If possible, please bring 4 x 8-10 metre ropes for practice. Communal ropes will be available for those who do not have their own. Visit our shop for high-quality ropes!
