Brendan Fitzpatrick is a talented guitarist, composer, educator, and freelance musician based in St. John's, NL. With a rich background in jazz from St. Francis Xavier University and extensive performance experience across Atlantic Canada, Brendan's style showcases a vibrant mix of improvisation and genre fluidity. Recently, he collaborated with Heidi Burns on Ian Foster’s ‘Wintering’ project and performed at the upcoming 2025 Antigonish Jazz Festival while also serving as faculty for the St. FX University Summer Music Camp.

What is Night Music?

After concerts and installations wrap up, a new vibe begins at Night Music! 🎉 At the Ship, a featured performer, band, or collective will kick-off the night with an original set. After a short break, the floor opens for jam sessions where symposium guests and everyone else can join in on the fun!

Originally launched at Symposium 2002, Night Music has evolved into a monthly improv event at The Ship for over 20 years! The Ship Pub itself is a legendary venue, known for sparking countless collaborations and being a favorite haunt for numerous Newfoundland artists.
