Step into the meditative world of bead embroidery at RecCreate Collective's Stitch Club! In this hands-on workshop, you'll master traditional bead embroidery techniques to craft your very own beaded magnet, brooch, or patch — a wearable (or displayable!) piece of art made entirely by your own hands.
Using time-honored bead embroidery methods, you'll bring a unique motif to life — stitching together a dazzling array of beads into something truly personal. Every color of bead you could dream of will be provided, along with a curated selection of design ideas to spark your creativity.
This workshop is led by Kadi Flory, a Brooklyn-based artist, maker, and educator. Kadi holds a degree in Fiber Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design, with a rich background spanning fashion and studio art. She runs her own studio producing fine art work, and is deeply passionate about teaching the craft of making by hand — because she believes it's one of the most meaningful things a person can do.
True to all RecCreate events, this is less like a formal class and more like heading to a creative friend's place — except they've already sourced all the materials and are ready to guide you through the basics before the music starts bumping! Expect:
It's a tender, community-centered afternoon centered on process, play, and togetherness.
