About the event

Join us on Orcas Island for a powerful event honoring Indigenous women and their central role in environmental justice campaigns throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Se’Si’Le, an Indigenous-led nonprofit, presents the Seven Sisters—The Return of the Matriarchy, a poignant campaign geared towards celebrating matriarchs who have bravely fought against adversity for the sake of our planet. These remarkable women embody the restorative power and wisdom that stems from their roles as life bringers.

Featured Sisters:

  • Raynell Morris (Lummi Nation)
  • Cyaltsa Finkbonner (Lummi Nation)
  • Chenoa Egawa (S’Klallam/Lummi Nations)
  • Robin Lovelace (Tlingit of Alaska)
  • Fiorella De Le O (Quechua of Peru)
  • Marilene Silva (Macuxi of Brazil)
  • Eva Schulte (Executive Director, Friends of the San Juans)
  • Dr. Lisa Dabek (Senior Conservation Scientist, Woodland Park Zoo)

The discussions will resonate with themes of re-matriation, kin-centric relations, place-based identity, ancestral futures, and the ongoing intergenerational struggle that extends to the Seventh Generation.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn from and celebrate these incredible women!
