Tuesday Jam - A contact improvisation dance jam CCAP

Join us for an exciting Contact Improvisation (CI) Jam every Tuesday during spring 2026, hosted by the non-profit association Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm! 💃

🎤 Each week, a jam host will take care of both the space and practicalities. Some weeks, this host will facilitate a short group warm-up, while on others, participants will manage their own preparation. If a group warm-up is held, there won’t be a lengthy guided intro as seen in the Sunday Jam.

🎨 During certain sessions, the host may propose a theme for exploration. Given the focus of this 2-hour jam, there will be two arrival times: 17:45 and 18:45. Arrive at either of these times to gain entry!

📍 Location: Ccap, Körsbärsvägen 9, 114 23 Stockholm (check the map in the event discussion for directions).

💰 Pricing:

• 50 SEK per jam for members of the association
• 100 SEK per jam for non-members
  Payment is accepted via swish or cash only. (See below for details on becoming a member.)

About Contact Improvisation

Contact Improvisation is a layered form of dance that emphasizes listening and attuning your movement to your surroundings—be it space or fellow dancers. It's a dynamic practice where we artfully move in and out of physical contact, harnessing gravity and sensation. The jam is an evolving flow of joyful unpredictability, honing reflexes and enabling rich interactions.

Developed in the 1970s within the experimental dance scene in the USA, CI has now blossomed into diverse global communities.

About the Jam

This event welcomes everyone curious about dancing in and out of contact! Observe, dance, or simply be present in the space—self-care and respect for the improvisational environment are vital. Remember, you're free to join or exit any dance. To maintain the dance focus, conversations should happen outside the studio. If you need a break from dancing, please step aside. We dance barefoot in comfortable clothes! 🌈

Membership Benefits

The Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm association, started in 2025, allows members to enjoy incredible rates for jamming, foster community, and deepen their practice. Membership also provides you an influence in decisions relating to the dance community and access to exclusive member events.

Membership options include:

• 1000 SEK: Free entry to the Sunday jam for a full calendar year + membership.
• 700 SEK: Free entry to Sunday jam for a whole term + membership.
• 200 SEK: Support member for the calendar year (no Sunday jam entry).
