WHY NOW

Under Malaysia's 2025 ASEAN Chairmanship the bloc substantially concluded DEFA, the first region-wide digital economy agreement, with signing targeted for 2026. Ten nations have committed to digital trade rules and trusted cross-border standards. The neutral, non-government institution to carry that mandate forward is the gap UDECO fills.
