Join us for a delightful guided walk along the River Wandle, one of South West London’s hidden natural treasures! 🌳 Starting in Croydon and flowing to the Thames at Wandsworth, this river creates a beautiful green corridor through the city. Once marginalized by pollution from industry, the Wandle has made a remarkable recovery, showcasing urban rewilding and ecological revival.

What to Expect:

🚶‍♂️ Distance: approx. 5 miles
🥪 Includes: Complimentary sandwich lunch

Itinerary:

  • 11:00 – Meeting point: outside Colliers Wood Station (London Underground)
  • 11:15 – Commence the walk along the River Wandle Trail
  • 11:30 – Stop at Merton Abbey Mills
  • 12:30 – Arrive at Morden Hall Park for an eel trap visit & reflection workshop
  • 13:00 – Enjoy your complimentary sandwich lunch
  • 13:30 – Continue the journey upstream along the river
  • 16:30 – Arrive at The Grove, Carshalton
  • 17:00 – Conclude the walk in Carshalton

Getting There:

Colliers Wood is easily reachable via the Northern Line on the London Underground. Carshalton is conveniently served by Southern and Thameslink services back into central London and beyond. 🚆
