West Side Poetry PRIDE Slam | Ft. Alice Birbara & Caitlin Bonser-Shade

🌈 Celebrate Pride Month with us at the West Side Poetry PRIDE Slam! This event is all about uplifting queer voices and showcasing original work in a vibrant community setting. Whether your poem tells a queer story or simply resonates with your unique voice, we want you to shine!

About the Event:
Join us for a monthly open mic night where poets can perform their original pieces, opening hearts and minds. The audience provides lively feedback, and you might even earn a support feature spot at the next slam! All forms of performance art are welcome—because poetry comes in many shapes and sizes.

Feature Performers:
🌟 Alice Birbara
A queer actor and writer residing on Gadigal land, Alice is dedicated to amplifying the voices of women, the LGBTQIA+ community, survivor narratives, and other marginalized groups. Inspired by literary giants like Joy Sullivan and Ocean Vuong, Alice is keen on engaging conversations that help others feel heard and valued.

🌟 Support Feature: Caitlin Bonser-Shade
Hailing from rural NSW and now a performer and poet, Caitlin's work navigates themes of mental health and identity, often with a sharp wit. Her upcoming spoken word show, This Is Not Control, explores living with OCD in a raw and revealing manner.

Our spirited host, DEFNE, will also grace the stage, performing a condensed version of their epic bisexual poem! 👀
