WMC Level 1 Technical Canyoneering for Beginners - 2 Day Event (CGI Level 1)

Come learn essential skills and techniques to transition from a canyon passenger to an active canyoneer! This event is perfect for both beginners and those with some experience.

What to Bring:

• Canyoneering Harness
• Climbing Helmet
• Rappel Device (Totem, ATS, Pirana, Hoodoo, SQWUREL)
• 3-4 Locking Screw-Gate Carabiners
• Water, Food, and Snacks
• 7mm VT Prusik
• A Chair
• 10-12' of 6mm or 7mm Rated Cord
• 20' of 1" Tubular Webbing (Black preferred)
• A piece of rope (8 or 9mm, about 15' long)
• Dress appropriately for the weather (long-sleeve shirt/pants, closed-toe shoes, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, windbreaker/jacket)

Parking: Park in the gravel area to avoid entry fees.

Registration & Attendance:

• This event is free, but you must have an active Wasatch Mountain Club (WMC) membership.
• Space is limited to 12 participants (including hosts), and everyone must RSVP individually.
• Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance if your plans change.
