About Irving Plaza

Irving Plaza is a historic ballroom-style live music venue at 17 Irving Place in Manhattan, on the border of Union Square and Gramercy Park. The building dates to the 1860s; it became a ballroom theater in 1927 and was converted into a rock venue in 1978. Operated by Live Nation, it reopened in August 2021 after a major renovation with a standing capacity of 1,200. It has hosted countless notable acts across rock, punk and alternative music history.
