6th Annual Newton Juneteenth Celebration

Join us for a vibrant celebration of resilience, unity, and community pride! 🌍✨

Kick off your day at Newton North High School with thrilling activities hosted by Newton Community Education, including a football clinic led by rookies from the New England Patriots in the morning, along with soccer and basketball clinics in the early afternoon! 🏈⚽🏀

Then, from 3 PM at the Hyde Community Center, immerse yourself in the festivities featuring:
🎶 An electrifying party atmosphere hosted by DJ Firestarta
🛍️ Unique shopping with local artisans and craft vendors
💃 Captivating performances with African dancing by AfroDiamond and reggae tunes from DJ Everla$t
📣 Meet the fabulous New England Patriots cheerleaders!
🌮 Delicious Caribbean cuisine from food trucks Reggae Food and Gourmet Kreyol
🎤 A Summer Concert Series event featuring the sensational hip-hop cover band The GRV from 6–8 PM, delivering a diverse set list that spans Pop, Rock, Soul, and more!
🎥 Wind down under the stars with an 8 PM screening of the celebrated film Black Panther, showcasing the excellence of Black culture and heritage! 🌌

This year, we celebrate 'Joyful Resistance', honoring 161 years since the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. All residents and visitors are warmly invited to participate in this significant event!

We’re particularly excited to honor Dr. Henry Turner, outgoing Principal of Newton North High School, who is transitioning to become Superintendent of Reading Public Schools. 🌟
